As the Federal Government grapples with the menace of insecurity caused by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgency in Northern Nigeria, its security apparatus being used to fight it - the Joint Task Force (comprising the Police, Army, Navy and Airforce) are not helping matters.

As the JTF teams are posted to designated places around the cities concerned, they turn aggressors of innocent citizens by extorting monies from motorists.  They have made it so common that they brazenly go about it without caring who is watching.  They actually demand for money, sometimes with specific amounts asked for when they flag down motorists.

It is important that the military authorities call these officers and men to order so that they concentrate on curbing the security challenge for which they were posted to the streets in the first place.
